New Year celebration (Aluth Avurudda) - Traditional Sri Lankan New Year is celebrated in April and involve religious rituals for the passing of old year, receive blessings for the new year, and anointing oil & leaving for work at an auspicious time.

Vesak celebration (Buddha day) – Vesak is the major Buddhist festival of the year as it celebrates the Birth, Enlightenment and Parinirvana (Passing away of the Buddha). This celebration will be held during the full moon day of the month of May.

Kathina (Robe offering) ceremony – This day is dedicated to celebrate the end of Vassana (rainy season) retreat by Monks. This ceremony is typically held during October full moon day to November full moon day.
